When we had our son in 2024, we had no idea he would be born with Down syndrome. He was a birth diagnosis and by 3 weeks old hospitalized with a heart condition that required him to have open heart surgery at the age of 6 months old. Our world flipped upside down, no parent wants to hear their child needs a lifesaving surgery. In those months waiting for his surgery, it felt so surreal and so isolating. with little to no resources in our community for down syndrome support I knew one day I would create something to fill this void. A year post-op, we got back on our feet finding our new groove in life and the void was still there so in 2026 Lucky21 Club was created. Our goal is to create that safe space for the families that need it. To build community, friendships, awareness and to be that space of certainty during the hard times.
